Social Emotional Learning

An important element in educating the whole child is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Studies have shown that the implementation of workshops focusing on defining and refining socio-emotional skills have several important benefits both for the individual student, as well as for a healthy school environment. SEL education increases our students’ ability to concentrate, reduces bullying, and improves interpersonal relations within the school environment, among other benefits.

This program is on a bi-weekly basis with the collaboration of two highly-trained professionals with experience implementing SEL school programs.  The Program also incorporates 6 pillars of character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Caring, Responsibility, Fairness, and Citizenship.

Students are given workshops of how their brains work during thinking processes, how their emotions affect their behavior, how to focus on the present moment through Mindfulness training, how to best handle situations that evoke anxiety, and how to successfully focus their attention during the school day.
