Commonwealth-Parkville School (CPS) has a full-time licensed Clinical Psychologist, Dra. Mercedes Morris.  She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Georgia and a Master’s and Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Caribbean Center for Advanced Studies, San Juan. She provides psychological services at both campuses: Parkville and Commonwealth ensuring the continuity of services and support students need from their early years and continuing through Middle and High School.

Her work with students, parents, and staff has covered key areas, including: individual and group counseling, teacher consultation, crisis intervention, teacher/parent conferences and referrals of students and families to appropriate community agencies for medical, vocational, or psychological services, as needed.

Dra. Morris handles all matters abiding to strict confidentiality rules, while maintaining the safety and welfare of CPS students and staff members. In her quest to unlock each child's potential, she keeps abreast of new developments in school psychology by attending discipline-related workshops and conferences, devoting time to professional reading and networking, and maintaining active membership in the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association and the “Asociación de Psicólogos de Puerto Rico”.
