SCHOOL YEAR 2017-2018 PACKET

CPS | Best Value Proposition in Town

We hope your summer is enjoyable and restful. At CPS, we have been hard at work reviewing and revamping programs, purchasing educational books and materials, fulfilling staff needs, and preparing our facilities to ensure they are at optimal conditions for the opening of school.  Teachers have updated lesson and curriculum plans and have been catching up on professional development, some including travel to the States. We are all gearing up to receive your child in August.

We understand that the coming months, marked by fiscal challenges for Puerto Rico, may cause anxiety to our parent population.   Some may even begin second-guessing if putting significant financial resources in their child’s education is warranted. Do not let Puerto Rico’s foes distract you. CPS continues to be the best value proposition in town, providing a world-class education at one of the lowest tuitions (which include books) among top private English schools in the island. Students are provided a myriad of opportunities and tools to excel, both academically and emotionally.

As Dr. James Dobson, Psychologist, has been quoted as saying, “Nothing Invested In A Child Is Ever Lost.” We would agree that the most important investment you will ever make is your child’s education.  But keep in mind that the ROI (return on investment) cannot be easily quantified, and must be measured long-term.  A child’s joy of learning, emotional intelligence, decision-making ability, resourcefulness, and other necessary skills to succeed in life, cannot be calculated. However, these traits can be observed in our graduates, a living testament to our core values.  Not only do they go off to their colleges of choice (not limited to Ivy Leagues), but become successful men and women, leaders in their communities, and caring global citizens.

We value our partnership and will continue to strive to prepare your child to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world with a quality education that seeks to inspire lifelong learning and service to others.

May you continue to have a restful and peaceful summer. I look forward to welcoming you back on the first day of school Tuesday, August 8th.

SUMMER LEARNING

Summer is a great time to relax with your children, it also makes for a great occasion for reading. Research shows that children who read over the summer make significant academic gains.  CPS has put together a list of summer reading selections we are certain your child will enjoy.

FACTS (TUITION & FEES)

CPS contracts FACTS Management Company to facilitate on-line payment of tuition and fees to CPS families. The payment options are as follows: one full year payment in June, two semester payments (June and December), or 10 month payments (June - March).  All parents need to pay using FACTS, except for cash payments that must be processed at Central Office - Commonwealth Campus.  Federal Law does not allow charging a convenience fee for processing credit cards in Puerto Rico. Therefore, credit cards are not accepted as method of payment for tuition and fees.

All CPS parents will receive an e-mail invitation from FACTS  with a Customer # and Registration/unique Code to sign-in/register. The e-mail format you will receive is noted below.  If you do not receive the email, please check your Junk/Spam box.

CAFETERIA 0NLINE PAYMENTS

The PayForIt software is available for online payments to the cafeteria. This system allows you to create a secure online account where you can add money to your child's account, view their Account's balance, make payments any time of day, plus it accesses our cafeteria system to display your child’s daily meal consumption.

Registration for the first time in the PayForIt system requires an individual student ID number assigned by CPS. New students will receive a letter with the ID number and instructions for registration before August 1, 2017.

Existing families will continue using the same ID provided last year. If you did not register and cannot find the ID, you can ask the cash register attendants at either campus and they can look it up in the system for you.

For any questions, please contact the cafeteria staff.
