Commonwealth-Parkville School (CPS) has a full-time Registered Nurse who holds a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing. She keeps abreast on the latest school nursing issues and maintains direct contact with the different health agencies available in our community and the United States.
Some of the her duties include: daily management of sick or injured children, providing first aid care for students' bumps, bruises, scrapes, scratches and rashes, administering daily medications, maintaining accurate in-house health records, providing First Aid/ Health Screenings and Health Education, and developing school health policies.
Emergencies, although rare, do occur from time to time. She provides emergency first aid care and utilizes the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) when necessary.
The nurse strives for open communication with parents and students in order to provide the best school health services possible, taking into account each and every student’s individual, physical, and emotional needs. If you have any questions or concerns, please know that the Nurse’s Office is accessible to you during school hours.
