Library/Media Services
All students, teachers, and school personnel have full access to both Commonwealth and Parkville School libraries. Each library has an excellent collection of resources, including: reference materials, Puerto Rican and professional resources, computer software, Internet access, magazines and professional journals, and educational databases. These databases can be remotely accessed through the Internet for research and resources needed beyond school hours.
During the 2009-2010 school year, we subscribed to the following databases: EBSCO, Océano, Britannica Online (Spanish and English databases), Grolier Online, and H. W. Wilson's. For access to these databases, please call the library of the campus where your son/daughter attends.
Students in Parkville have library services for enrichment, reading motivation, research, and instruction as per the teachers' request. Students in Commonwealth can visit the library on their own time as well as be scheduled during class time for curriculum-oriented instruction, project-based, design based and/or collaborative research and orientation, and multimedia production and presentation.
